Visit of the Image of Nuestra Señora de la Soledad

The image of Nuestra Señora de la Soledad visited the MCB on August 28-30, 2009. The miraculous image arrived around noontime of August 28, 2009. Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo, MCB Rector and Hon. Anna Maria L. Harper, Intramuros Administrator, warmly welcomed the parishioners of the newly established parish in Archdiocese of Manila, Señora de la Soledad Parish, headed by their first Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Benjamin D. Jugueta, Jr. Nuestra Señora de la Soledad is the patroness of the new parish.

In preparation of the Canonical Proclamation of Nuestra Señora de la Soledad Parish and Canonical Installation of Rev. Fr. Benjamin D. Jugueta, Jr. as the first parish priest, the community of Soledad held a triduum masses at Manila Cathedral Basilica.

6:40AM - Rosary and Closing Prayer
7:00AM - Solemn Procession going to Forth Santiago
7:30AM - Fluvial procession crossing Pasig River
8:00AM - Jubilant Welcome by the faithful; Caracol going to the church
10:00AM - Solemn Pontifical Mass

The seat of the new parish is located at Camba Street, Binondo, Manila.
The new parish was formally established on July 16, 2009, Feast day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and its territorial boundaries were taken from Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish, Tondo Manila; Sto. Niño Parish, Tondo, Manila and Minor Basilica of San Lorenzo Ruiz, Binondo, Manila.
